In the summer of 2005, we packed up our home in Beallsville, MD, rented a U-Haul, and headed west to Colorado in search of life away from the fast pace of Washington, DC. Growing up my family had a condo in Winter Park, CO introducing me to my love of the mountains and dry air. Since my Husband and I knew, we were somewhat used to "city life" we knew that being close to Denver would be the right fit for us. Brighton, CO is where we have resided for the last twenty years on ten acres with our three horses, five dogs and two cats. During my down time, you will find me spending time with family and friends, training and performing with my dogs, medical coding, traveling, trail riding, camping and fly fishing.
I have worked in the real estate community since 2008. However, as a teenager I started my first [R.E.] position working for my family's successful commercial real estate business. I did administrative work for our business (answering phones and filing). I learned a lot about the ins and outs of the R.E. business and that it can have some very high highs and some very low lows. As an adult, I worked as a Travel Agent for over fifteen years. I left travel due to the advancement of technology. I quickly realized the need of Travel Agents coming to close. It is during this time, I decided it was time to take the plunge and pursue a career in R.E. Sadly, right after getting my license the market went into a big recession. Talk about being thrown in the deep end! I learned so much in a very short amount of time. You had to in order to adapt to the changing market. By my fifth month in R.E., I had two closings in one month! Very hard to do in that tough market and almost unheard of for a Realtor as new as I was. During that time, I learned I really enjoy working with first time home buyers and buyers that are looking to purchase acreage.
